The world of purpose-bred purebred dogs took a huge hit today. Sad that the AR activists can get a foot in the door like this. People have to read entire bills/proposals to know what is buried in them. Obviously flawed research and arguments for a bill that will change the entire face of dog sports in Florida, leave many in dog sports unemployed and leave 8000+ dogs without the pasttimes/careers that they were bred for, born to do and LOVE to do, potentially due to the way the bill was written including such innocent dog sports as agility, flyball and lure coursing…any running sport that includes timing. What a bunch of knotheads. Dog ownership is at such huge risk right now when we have HUGE organizations chanting «better dead than bred» and that are trying to outlaw all dog sports, breeding and in many areas making ownership impossible. Don’t let them win!

With Florida’s ban on Greyhound Racing soon to be in effect – it includes ALL timed dog racing events. This includes agility, Coursing, FastCAT, Flyball & more.
For the dog world this is very much the beginning of the end…a very sad day indeed. And this is why you RESEARCH before you vote people.These dogs were bred to run. Treated like absolute royalty and then when retired had almost a 98% adoption rate. These trainers, facilities & owners poured their hearts and souls into breeding and training these athletes and have now lost everything.
Now do to pure ignorance – it is banned in Florida.
Sad that if I lived in Florida , my dog would no longer be able to compete in an event she loves so much due to ignorant people classing RUNNING as abuse.
