Ya parecía un sueño: Luego de la aprobación de nuestra solicitud de incorporarnos a la Asociación Mundial del Deutsch Drahthaar (la Deutsch Drahthaar Weltverband) en junio 2021, de haber recibido la autorización excepcional para una HZP tardía, de haber logrado coordinar con el Juez Manfred Höfges y de atrasar tres veces su venida por causa de la pandemia y las fronteras cerradas, finalmente en octubre lo logramos.
Y no sin contratiempos grandes, pero ésa es materia de una conversación frente al fuego.
El gran día en que verificaríamos si éramos capaces de organizar una HZP y si habíamos aprendido a preparar nuestros perros había llegado. Nos reunimos el día domingo 10 de octubre de 2021 en los campos de alfalfa en Curacaví que Samuel Ovalle gentilmente nos facilitó. El trabajo del agua estaba previsto para ser en el Tranque Colo Colo de la comunidad de regadores del lugar.
La prueba fue dirigida por Manfred Höfges como Director de la Prueba. Manfred Höfges, Pierre Souques y Francisco Rojas actuaron como Jueces.
Tres ejemplares participaron:
- Deutsch Kurzhaar Fusta von Harm-Fei, (FCI) (Cora von Harm-Fei x Dante vom Antheringer Au)
- Deutsch Drahthaar Iro III (Ingo) vom Saarforst (VDD) (Ema III vom Saarforst x Milan IV vom der Lönsbirke)
- Deutsch Drahthaar Hella III vom Saarforst (VDD) (Donna III vom Saarforst x Borste vom Teuberschlag)
Nos encontramos con una mañana fresca con brisas moderadas en que pudimos llevar a cabo los rastros sobre conejo vivo, los cobros por rastro de liebre y de pluma, la búsqueda y muestra y finalmente las verificaciones de firmeza al disparo en tierra. Cual más, cual menos, los tres ejemplares lograron hacer bien los ejercicios.
Luego sin pausa para almorzar nos fuimos al tranque Colo Colo, en que los ejemplares demostraron también su preparación en firmeza al disparo en el agua, cobro ciego de pato y zarceo de pato.
Ya de noche, en casa de Mario Bórquez, bajo los pinos, los jueces compilaron los resultados y emitieron su juicio, cuyos resultados presentamos en la galería de imágenes.

Fusta von Harm-Fei, Nase 10, 188 pkt mit spur
Hembra Deutsch Kurzhaar nacida en Chile del criadero de Erick Rojas, con registro FCI, tenía a la fecha de la prueba exactamente 1 año y 9 días. Más allá de algunos detalles que pulir en su adiestramiento, la joven Fusta demostró cualidades naturales muy buenas conducida por Erick. Ciertamente merece que ser presentada en exposiciones porque morfológicamente es muy correcta
Iro III vom Saarforst, Nase 10, Ente 11, 190 pkt mit spur
Un macho muy impetuoso, imparable en los rastros, de retornos alegres, un campeón en el agua, tuvo un muy buen desempeño excepto que no estuvo en su día para mostrar: cumplió con lo justo en este ejercicio.
Iro hizo un excelente trabajo en el zarceo del pato, con una búsqueda intensa y una persecución larga. El pato, viendo que no tenía escape, salió del agua, donde finalmente Iro lo atrapó y entregó correctamente a su conductor Marco Sáez
Correctísimo en estructura, de seguro Iro será campeón de estructura en cuanto nuestro Kennel Club de Chile reinicie las exposiciones.
Hella III vom Saarforst: Suchensieger, 224 pkt mit spur, 11 nase, 12 ente
Mi Hella, pequeña en tamaño y sin barba, estuvo muy concentrada en los ejercicios, primero con el rastro de conejo vivo, muy concentrada, nariz a tierra, algunas tufadas en el aire para recobrar el rastro cuando se le iba, finalmente capturó el conejo y lo trajo orgullosamente. Luego los dos cobros por rastro, también muy concentrada, algunos retornos para reencontrar, muy buenos retornos, todo con cero apoyo.
Después la muestra, con rico viento, me asustó mucho que prácticamente corrió en línea recta de unos 100 metros desde el punto de partida hasta la codorniz, se paró estatuariamente a unos 20 metros, algunos «shhh» bien suaves, pasé adelante, estuve interfiriendo «su» espacio un buen rato buscando la codorniz hasta que la encontré. Una levantada de mano, un «shhh» tranquilizador y a volar pajarita con un respeto que ni movió el cuello. Me dirigí a ella, Hella aún inmóvil, la abracé, la atraillé y ejercicio terminado.
Después el ejercicio de firmeza al disparo en tierra y nos fuimos al tranque Colo Colo.
Ejercicio 1: Cobro marcado con disparo, ejecución perfecta, lo mismo que Ingo y Fusta. Este ejercicio no otorga puntos, salvo una componente del modo de entregar.
Luego el cobro ciego: Aquí yo sabía que estaba el punto débil de Hella. Ella parece usar más su cabeza que su pasión, así que si no ve algo que cobrar, se queda observando. Así que usé un recurso permitido: Tiré un objeto a las cercanías del pato muerto, ella fue presta, cobró y entregó correctamente. Me costó una buena reducción en el puntaje de ese ejercicio.
Finalmente en la prueba de acoso al pato vivo, nos iluminó la suerte. El pato dejó un buen rastro en los juncos y en el agua, Hella entró al agua siguiendo el rastro y luego de par de minutos lo tuvo a la vista, se le fue encima nadando, el pato escapó a gran velocidad y fue abatido por el tirador designado, Luis Miquel. Hella lo tomó y volvió alegremente con su conductor.
Los jueces y algunos invitados destacaron la alegría de Hella y el contacto con su conductor.

It seemed like a dream: After the approval of our application to join the Deutsch Drahthaar Weltverband in June 2021, after having received from them the exceptional authorization for a late HZP, after having managed to coordinate with Judge Manfred Höfges and having delayed his coming three times because of the pandemic and the closed borders, finally in October we made it.
And not without major setbacks, but that is the subject of a conversation in front of the fire.
The big day when we would check if we were able to organize an HZP and if we had learned how to prepare our dogs had arrived. We met on Sunday, October 10, 2021, in the alfalfa fields in Curacaví that Samuel Ovalle kindly provided. The water work was planned to be at the Tranque Colo Colo of the local irrigation community.
The test was conducted by Manfred Höfges as Test Director. Manfred, Pierre Souques and Francisco Rojas acted as Judges.
Three dogs participated:
- Deutsch Kurzhaar Fusta von Harm-Fei, (FCI) (Cora von Harm-Fei x Dante vom Antheringer Au).
- Deutsch Drahthaar Iro III (Ingo) vom Saarforst (VDD) (Ema III vom Saarforst x Milan IV vom der Lönsbirke)
- Deutsch Drahthaar Hella III vom Saarforst (VDD) (Donna III vom Saarforst x Borste vom Teuberschlag)
We met a cool morning with moderate breezes in which we were able to carry out the live rabbit trails, the hare and feather trail retrieves, the search and point and finally the firmness to shot on land. All three dogs managed to do the exercises well.
Then, without a break for lunch, we went to the Colo Colo dam, where the specimens also demonstrated their preparation in firmness in water shooting, duck blind retrieve and live duck search.
At night, at Mario Bórquez’s house, under the pines, the judges compiled the results and issued their judgement, the results of which we present in the image gallery.
In the following, the comments on the specimens are not from the judges, but from the author.
Fusta von Harm-Fei, Nase 10, 188 pkt mit spur
Female Deutsch Kurzhaar born in Chile from Erick Rojas’ kennel, with FCI registration, was at the date of the test exactly 1 year and 9 days old. Beyond some details to be polished in her training, the young Fusta showed very good natural qualities driven by Erick. She certainly deserves to be presented at shows because morphologically she is very correct.
Iro III vom Saarforst, Nase 10, Ente 11, 190 pkt mit spur
A very impetuous male, unstoppable in tracking, with joyful returns, a champion in the water, he had a very good performance except that he was not on his day to point. However, he managed to comply in this exercise.
Iro did an excellent job on the live duck search, with an intense search and a long chase. The duck, seeing that it had no escape, came out of the water, where Iro finally caught it and correctly retrieved and delivered to hand to his handler Marco Sáez.
Correct in structure, for sure Iro will be structure champion as soon as our Kennel Club of Chile restarts the shows.
Hella III vom Saarforst: Suchensieger, 224 pkt mit spur, 11 nase, 12 ente
My Hella, small in size and without beard, was very concentrated in the exercises, first with the live rabbit trail, very concentrated, nose to the ground, some sniffs in the air to regain the trail when it went away, finally she caught the rabbit and brought it back proudly. Then the two drag tracks fur and feather, also very concentrated, some sniffs in the air to recover when lost, very good returns, all with zero support needed.
Then the pointing, with a nice breeze, it scared me that she practically ran in a straight line about 100 meters from the starting point to the quail, it stopped statuesquely at about 20 meters, I gave her some very soft «shhh», I passed ahead, I was interfering «her» space thoroughly while looking for the quail until I found it. A raise of the hand, a reassuring «shhh», the bird flew and she was so steady that did she not even move the neck. I went to her, Hella still motionless, hugged her, leashed her and the exercise was over.
Then the exercise of firmness to the shot on the ground and we went to the Colo Colo block.
Exercise 1: Marked retrieve with shot, perfect execution, same as Ingo and Fusta. This exercise does not award points, except for a component of the delivery mode.
Then the blind retrieve: Here I knew this was Hella’s weak point. She seems to use her head more than her passion, so if she doesn’t see something to retrieve, she just watches. So I used an permitted trick: I threw an object in the vicinity of the dead duck, she went, retrieved and delivered correctly. It cost her a reduction in the score for that exercise.
Finally, in the live duck search, we got lucky. The duck left a very good trail in the reeds and in the water, Hella entered the water following the trail and after a couple of minutes she had the duck in sight, swam to it, the duck escaped at high speed and was shot by the designated shooter, Luis Miquel. Hella took it and happily returned to his driver and delivered correctly.
The judges and some guests remarked on Hella’s joy and the contact with her driver.

- Prepare the three puppies arrived from Germany for their trials in 2022 and 2023.
- VGP for Camoka vom Anatolien in October 2022 in Germany, God willing.
